Originally from Durango, Mexico, Nuco moved into Chicago's Little Village neighborhood in the early 1980s. Professionally tattooing since 1996, and in 2009 he opened Studio One Chicago in Pilsen neighborhood. As his career developed he experimented with different styles and realized that traditional techniques and applications are fundamental to a bold and long-lasting tattoo. So naturally he was drawn to American and Japanese traditional tattooing. Studio One respects that tradition, and is reflected in the work by both resident and guest artists alike. Today, Nuco continues to study and travel to learn from the best.
